Indonesia’s state-backed resource-export management company DSI announced its management team, naming Luke Mahoney, who has served as an executive at Vale Indonesia, as CEO. Saifulrahman Nur (Cipung Nur) also became chair of the board of commissioners.
Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia (DSI), Indonesia’s state-backed resource-export management company, announced on the 24th the appointments of its president and CEO and its chair of the board of commissioners. Luke Mahoney, who built his resource-sector career at Vale Indonesia and became the company’s Chief Strategy and Technology Officer in 2024, was appointed CEO.
Saifulrahman Nur, who serves as chair of the board of commissioners of IDS T, an Indonesian defense-related company, will become chair of DSI’s board of commissioners. DSI was established under Government Regulation “No. 24 of 2026” and aims to become the “only domestic intermediary” at the core of Indonesia’s strategic-resource exports by scrutinizing export prices and volumes and reviewing HS code classifications.
The government plans to strengthen oversight of strategic resources through DSI and has indicated that it will eventually centralize export operations. The Prabowo administration said it had “managed” resource exports totaling US$14 billion over approximately two months from June, and called for curbing transfer pricing and preventing under-invoicing.
As DSI works to expand the range of covered products, establishing a framework to handle major export products including palm oil, coal and ferroalloys will be a focus going forward.
