AeiROBOT, a humanoid robotics company spun out of Hanyang University ERICA, will invest ¥40 billion in Ansan City's Ansan Science Valley district to establish new headquarters and research and production facilities, laying the groundwork for mass production. Construction is scheduled to start in November, with completion targeted for October 2027.
AeiROBOT, founded in a laboratory at Hanyang University ERICA, has signed an investment agreement totaling ¥40 billion to build a new base in Gyeonggi Province's Ansan Science Valley district, including headquarters and robot research and production facilities. The site covers 4,487 square meters and will comprise one basement level and three above-ground floors, with total floor space of approximately 10,000 square meters.
Construction of the new facility is scheduled to start in November, with completion targeted for October 2027. The agreement also includes administrative support, such as assistance with permits and approvals and responses to issues faced by the company. The parties plan to work with local research institutions and the manufacturing base to build an ecosystem for the advanced robotics industry.
Since its founding in 2018, AeiROBOT has developed the ALICE series and pursued the demonstration and commercialization of bipedal models and robots for manufacturing sites. Its past funding totals approximately ¥13.5 billion, comprising approximately ¥3.5 billion in seed funding and approximately ¥10 billion in Series A funding.
