Nabtesco Corporation’s automatic doors have been integrated with PLiBOT Gen.2 to enable AMR automated transport and door coordination. A demo is scheduled for 16 November at Obayashi Corporation’s East Japan Robotics Center.
Nabtesco Corporation and PLiBOT are jointly conducting technical validation and have linked automatic doors with AMRs using the integrated control platform PLiBOT Gen.2. The initiative is designed to enable AMRs to pass through automatic doors and coordinate their movements, which was previously difficult, while prioritising human safety.
The platform enables the integrated operation of AMRs from different manufacturers. It is also expected to prevent collisions at intersections, eliminate the need for AMRs to pass one another in narrow corridors, expand the range of available models and reduce the burden of learning how to operate each model. In addition, it provides connectivity with building facilities such as elevators and shutters, data connectivity with customer systems such as ERP, and remote monitoring and instruction functions.
This collaboration is expected to expand the areas where AMRs can pass through automatic doors without obstruction, advancing labour savings and efficiency in transport and cleaning operations at factories and offices. Connectivity with existing facilities is also possible, and companies considering implementation are being invited to demonstration trials.
As an event, a collaboration demo is scheduled for the private show being held at Obayashi Corporation’s East Japan Robotics Center from 16 November. Those wishing to visit can apply through PLiBOT’s official announcement.
