LINE has begun offering the new “Scroll Preview” feature on its smartphone app. A preview of unread messages is displayed when users long-press a chat, and follows scrolling.
LY Corporation began offering the new “Scroll Preview” feature for the Android and iOS versions of the LINE app around 8 October 2026. The feature provides previews of unread messages, which are displayed when users long-press a message in a chat room.
The displayed preview also supports scrolling, allowing it to follow the user's scrolling regardless of the length of the message thread.
The feature is being rolled out through LINE Labs on an opt-in basis. It is expected to be available through LINE Labs for a set period before being formally rolled out as a premium feature for paying LYP Premium members.
