DMG MORI has launched the new INH 63FD 5-axis-controlled horizontal machining center. Equipped to perform both turning and milling on a single machine, it is designed to consolidate processes that were previously performed separately and shorten processing times.
DMG MORI has announced the new INH 63FD 5-axis machining center. The machine makes it possible to consolidate turning and milling, which were previously performed as separate processes, on a single machine. The new product is equipped with a rotary table that provides the rotational speed and torque required for turning, enabling turning operations as well.
The INH series has been designed to support control systems made by Germany's Siemens, allowing customers to select the system best suited to their existing equipment and operating environment. Previously, the series was limited to FANUC control systems, but the latest improvements expand the available control-system options.
DMG MORI said it plans to introduce the machine on equipment capable of processing larger workpieces, with a view to meeting a broader range of machining needs.
The launch demonstrates the company's effort to consolidate processes by combining adaptability with state-of-the-art machines, and is likely to draw interest from customers seeking to improve productivity in machining.
