Lotte will give its "Custard Cake" a major renewal for its 40th anniversary and launch the new "Soft-Centered Custard Cake" nationwide after approximately 4 years of development. It will also roll out a consumer-participation campaign and the "GOLD TICKET" promotion.
Lotte is refreshing its Custard Cake series, first launched in 1986, for its 40th anniversary and will launch the new "Soft-Centered Custard Cake" nationwide from 29 September 2026. The sponge is baked to a lighter, fluffier texture with the addition of a new ingredient, while the egg yolk content has been increased to 1.6 times that of the previous product.
The new "Soft-Centered Custard Cake" was developed to achieve a soft-centered texture in a shelf-stable confectionery and was completed after approximately 4 years of development. The custard sauce inside is 3 times the amount in the previous product, and the package uses a premium design based on black and gold. Indicative retail prices are around ¥421 for a 6-pack, around ¥820 for a 9-pack, and around ¥302 for a 3-pack (including tax).
In conjunction with the renewal, Lotte will run the "Indulge Me: Reward Cake Showdown—Fall 2026" on its official X account and website from 18 September. In the first round, tasting sets featuring 4 products will be awarded by lottery to a total of 100 people. In the second-round web vote, tasting sets will be given to a total of 400 people.
In collaboration with "The Series," 20 "GOLD TICKETS," limited worldwide, will be enclosed in packages. Winners will receive a special product made with gold leaf, with the offer available through 31 May 2027.
Lotte will also run the consumer-participation "Indulge Me: Reward Cake Showdown" in conjunction with the Custard Cake and The Series campaigns. The "GOLD TICKET" promotion will start on 17 September, with details of the prizes and entry requirements to be provided.
