The expansion of production facilities for the pharmaceutical excipient NISSO HPC at Nippon Soda’s Nihongi Plant has been completed, and commercial operations have begun. The company also announced plans to strengthen its global sales structure in order to make maximum use of the expanded production capacity.
The expansion increased production capacity to 1.5 times the previous level, with an investment of ¥10 billion and operations scheduled to begin in July 2026. In conjunction with this, the company opened the Cellulose Technical Application Center Europe (CTAC EU) in Düsseldorf, Germany, strengthening its technical support structure for the European market.
In the Indian market, Nippon Soda will begin direct sales through Nisso Chemical India LLP from April 2026. A local warehouse will be used as a warehouse operated by a Japanese logistics company, enabling direct sales to be conducted alongside sales through distributors.
On the environmental front, the company obtained a SuMPO Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). This is Japan’s first certification for a cellulose derivative, establishing a system for providing environmental data.
