Cloud Legal, a contract and legal BPaaS, was implemented at medical device startup iMU and won an AWARD in the Governance DX category of the SUCCESS STORY AWARD 2026 Autumn organized by デジタル化の窓口.
MOLTON株式会社's contract and legal BPaaS, Cloud Legal, was implemented at medical device startup iMU株式会社. The implementation provided an AI-powered corporate legal outsourcing service supporting the company's legal operations, and was recognized as one of the award-winning cases selected by デジタル化の窓口.
iMU had 2 directors and 1 employee in a small organization, with legal work handled concurrently by existing staff. Reliance on external providers for contract drafting and legal consultations was an issue. The company had relied on outside counsel, but as opportunities for consultation declined during the sales phase, it decided to introduce an AI-enabled legal support system.
Following the implementation of Cloud Legal, iMU no longer retains outside counsel, has removed limits on the number of contracts that can be drafted, and can consult lawyers at no additional cost within the plan's scope. Legal consultations are completed via chat, enabling earlier access to specialists and strengthening legal risk management at the operational level.
The reason for selecting the case for the Governance DX category was that the small startup was able to equip itself with basic functions for a fixed cost and establish risk management through lawyer review. The system under which specialists verify the consistency of contracts and terms related to medical devices was recognized as contributing to greater business credibility.
In addition to iMU, Medii has previously received an award as a Cloud Legal implementation case. The company plans to continue providing the service to address shortages of legal personnel and strengthen legal systems at small companies.
