TAISEI CORPORATION announced that it has developed technology capable of predicting flooding caused by torrential downpours within 5 minutes. Unlike conventional methods that relied solely on rainfall data, the technology aims to deliver forecasts in a shorter timeframe.
The technology combines GPU-based analysis with sewerage network maps and precipitation forecasts to track water movement, including pluvial flooding. This could enable more rapid assessments of potential damage when localized torrential rain occurs.
TAISEI CORPORATION said it intends to use the technology at its own construction sites and to support other companies in developing BCPs. Further field testing and expansion of its scope of application will be closely watched.
