Makuake's hands-on pop-up, "Sawareru Makuake," was held in Shibuya, Tokyo, for 12 days from 19 September, offering a showroom-style experience where visitors could pick up and try approximately 30 projects before their general release.
Makuake's crowdfunding-style pre-order service, Makuake, held the long-term pop-up "Sawareru Makuake" at a venue in Shibuya, where visitors could see and try products before their general release. Products were not sold at the venue, which was intended to let visitors experience the products and gain a deeper understanding of their development background.
The event ran for 12 days from 19 to 30 September 2026, and products from approximately 30 projects were exhibited. The products covered a wide range, including AI-enabled digital devices, fashion items and household goods, with an emphasis on having visitors appreciate their value through hands-on experience.
Some of the products on display included the HOVERAir VERSA imaging device with automatic subject tracking, Mori, a wearable voice AI device with automatic transcription and summarisation, and the HUAWEI FreeClip 2 S, an ear-cuff-style earphone that does not block the ears. Visitors were able to assess how the products performed in actual use.
The event emphasised Makuake's aim of attracting the interest of new users through offline experiences, despite being primarily an online service, and of making hands-on product value a core criterion for product selection.
