Finnair raised its 2026 full-year forecast. The revision reflects air travel demand that has been stronger than expected, while some of the increase in fuel costs has been passed on through ticket prices. The company also commented on its preliminary third-quarter results and its outlook for 2027.
Finnair raised its 2026 full-year forecast on 13 October 2026. The new revenue forecast was raised from €3.4 billion–€3.5 billion to €3.5 billion–€3.6 billion, while the operating profit forecast was raised from €120 million–€190 million to €175 million–€220 million. Demand that has been stronger than expected was cited as the main factor. The company also explained that the impact of higher fuel costs had been partially passed on through ticket prices.
Preliminary third-quarter results are expected to include revenue of approximately €953 million, an increase year on year, and operating profit of approximately €84 million. The formal results announcement is scheduled for 27 October. The outlook for 2027 is expected to be released when the full-year 2026 results are announced. The company plans to handle the information cautiously, taking into account persistently high fuel prices, uncertainty, and trends in inflation and interest rates.
