SEIKOH GIKEN will make approximately ¥1.1 billion in capital investments to increase production in its Optical Products segment at its domestic headquarters in Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture. It will also strengthen its production capacity at Hangzhou 精工技研有限公司 in China and DATA PIXEL SAS in France.
SEIKOH GIKEN will make capital investments starting at its domestic headquarters in Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture, including the introduction of molds for mass production of optical connector components and automated assembly equipment. Total investment will be approximately ¥1.1 billion, aimed at increasing production in the Optical Products segment. The company attributes the investment to robust order activity against the backdrop of a global wave of new hyperscale data center construction.
At its domestic headquarters, the company will strengthen its mass-production capabilities for optical connector components for North American hyperscale data centers. It plans to increase production volume for these products to five times the current level by around October 2026, while the production capacity of polishing machines for optical connectors is expected to expand to 1.5 times the level at the end of the previous fiscal year by the end of August 2026. This will advance the automation and efficiency of the mass-production line.
At its overseas site, 杭州精工技研有限公司 in China will also install mass-production equipment, including automated polishing systems and 3D inspection systems. In France, subsidiary DATA PIXEL SAS will lease a new plant near its headquarters factory in Annecy and expand its cleanroom facilities to establish a higher-capacity production structure.
