TMI Associates has established a new Sydney office in Australia and begun providing local legal services in the Oceania region. The office commenced operations on 9 September 2026, formalising a local presence that builds on the firm's previous desk-based operations.
TMI Associates announced the opening of its new Sydney office in Australia, strengthening its ability to support Japanese companies expanding their businesses in Oceania. Since March 2025, the firm had operated a Sydney Desk in partnership with Australian law firm Johnson Winter Slattery. The new office establishes an independent local platform for the firm's activities.
Led by attorney Nagai Masayuki (長井 真之), the Sydney office will support Japanese companies across a broad range of areas, including M&A, business alliances, regulatory matters, compliance and dispute resolution. It will also address the legal needs of Oceania-based companies entering Japan and conducting transactions with Japanese companies.
The office will operate under the name TMI Associates Australia Pty Ltd and is located at Level 14, 50 Bridge Street, Sydney NSW 2000. Operations will commence on 9 September 2026, with attorney Nagai Masayuki (長井 真之) serving as the point person. The firm will continue supporting clients' international business activities by expanding its global network.
