The discussion focused on three themes: policies and initiatives to strengthen industrial competitiveness, ways to secure and develop talent, including addressing the shortage of engineers, and the impact of the latest technologies, including AI, on companies and society. Although the article did not provide specific figures or timing, the two chairmen indicated a direction of cooperation and co-creation with a view to “Japan’s future society.”
Through their walk around the venue and media scrum after the event, the two organizations emphasised their intention to explore ways for the automotive and IT industries to work together to strengthen Japan’s domestic competitiveness.
