Celebrating its 25th anniversary, nana’s green tea plans to launch THIS IS MATCHA, a new format centered on matcha from Yamamasa Koyamaen, a long-established Uji tea wholesaler, and open its first location on the first floor of Kyoto Yodobashi in early December 2026.
THIS IS MATCHA will operate as a takeaway-only tea stand where customers can casually enjoy the original flavor of matcha in an everyday cup. The new format is being developed in collaboration with its parent company, 七葉.
Yamamasa Koyamaen is a tea producer and tea wholesaler founded during the Edo period. It owns tea plantations in Uji and handles the entire process through to grinding. Drawing on techniques developed since its founding, THIS IS MATCHA will use the company's original matcha, prepared with its blending expertise built up over many years.
nana’s green tea is a global café brand originating in Jiyugaoka that brings Japanese tea culture into modern lifestyles, with menus and ingredients varying by location and region.
