Q1 revenue was ¥74.713 billion, operating income was ¥3.746 billion, and profit attributable to owners of the parent was ¥2.256 billion, representing progress rates of 24.1%, 22.7%, and 22.6%, respectively, against the full-year forecasts. The company considers progress against its full-year plan broadly steady, but FY2027 H1 will show whether operating income growth can continue to absorb higher funding costs.

Whether the H1 results disclose progress rates against the full-year plan and cumulative profit and loss by segment for the first time
In the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027, revenue was ¥74.713 billion, operating income was ¥3.746 billion, ordinary income was ¥4.206 billion, and profit attributable to owners of the parent was ¥2.256 billion. Year on year, revenue increased 14.9%, operating income 54.7%, ordinary income 39.9%, and profit attributable to owners of the parent 3.4%, with operating income growth outpacing revenue growth. Operating income was ¥2.422 billion in the year-earlier quarter, implying an approximate improvement in the operating margin from 3.7% to 5.0%.
The full-year forecasts are revenue of ¥310 billion, operating income of ¥16.5 billion, ordinary income of ¥17 billion, and profit attributable to owners of the parent of ¥10 billion. Progress rates at Q1 were therefore 24.1%, 22.7%, 24.7%, and 22.6%, respectively. Revenue and profit were broadly tracking close to one-quarter of the full-year forecasts, and the company’s materials describe progress against the full-year plan as “generally steady.” However, these are simple progress rates that do not account for seasonality, and the company has not separately disclosed an H1 forecast. Accordingly, FY2027 H1 should be assessed against a simple 50% benchmark to determine whether operating income is lagging revenue.
The factors behind Q1 earnings growth were expanded transactions, particularly in the Public and ICT Infrastructure business, accumulated earnings in the Investment business, and improved profitability. Funding costs, however, rose from 1.14% in the year-earlier period to 1.75%, creating a headwind from higher financing costs. It will be important to see whether operating income exceeds the simple H1 benchmark of ¥8.25 billion, or whether progress depends on earlier recognition of projects or investment gains.
As of Q1, there had also been no revision to the full-year earnings forecasts or the annual dividend forecast of ¥150. At the next results announcement, the company should disclose not only whether the full-year forecasts remain unchanged, but also cumulative H1 revenue, operating income, profit attributable to owners of the parent, funding costs, credit-related expenses, and profit by segment. In particular, it will be necessary to track whether the 54.7% year-on-year increase in operating income is maintained in H1 or slows materially as expenses rise.
