In Q1 of FY2027 ending March 2027, revenue rose 12.1% year on year to ¥3,297.1 million, while operating profit was ¥150.8 million. The operating margin surged from 0.24% to 4.57%. The focus for the next results will be whether demand from the manufacturing sector and for chemical-substance countermeasure products continues, and whether the margin can be maintained through Q2 cumulative.

Whether H1 revenue reaches ¥7.90 billion, the simple 50% benchmark of the full-year forecast of ¥15.8 billion
Whether H1 operating profit reaches ¥550 million, the simple 50% benchmark of the full-year forecast of ¥1.10 billion
Whether the Q1 operating margin of 4.57% can be maintained through Q2 cumulative
Whether the year-on-year increase in product revenue can be maintained or expanded from the ¥270 million increase in Q1 through H1
Revenue in Q1 of FY2027 ending March 2027 was ¥3,297.1 million, up ¥357.0 million, or 12.1%, from ¥2,940.1 million in the year-earlier quarter. Operating profit increased by ¥143.8 million, from ¥7.0 million to ¥150.8 million, and the operating margin improved from approximately 0.24% to 4.57%. Ordinary profit was ¥148.7 million and net income for the quarter was ¥99.5 million, with all major profit items remaining in the black.
The main drivers of the revenue increase were product orders from the manufacturing sector, a major customer base, and merchandise orders for protective equipment targeting substances subject to risk assessment under chemical-substance countermeasures. Product revenue increased by ¥270 million year on year, and merchandise revenue also rose, but no quantitative KPIs were disclosed for sales volume, customer numbers, order intake or order backlog to substantiate demand trends. It is therefore not yet possible to determine whether the ¥357 million increase in Q1 reflects a temporary concentration of projects or broader demand growth through H1.
On the profit side, gross profit increased by ¥180 million year on year, but higher raw-material prices and labor costs, travel expenses associated with more active sales efforts, and packing and freight expenses related to higher sales weighed on profit. Depreciation and amortization in Q1 was ¥200.3 million. It is also important to assess how much of the increase in gross profit from stronger demand can absorb higher fixed and variable costs. Although operating profit improved significantly, the individual amounts of the cost increases have not been sufficiently broken down.
The full-year forecasts are revenue of ¥15.8 billion, operating profit of ¥1.10 billion, ordinary profit of ¥1.02 billion and net income of ¥730 million. Q1 progress rates are therefore 20.9%, 13.7%, 14.6% and 13.6%, respectively. Assuming a simple even allocation by half-year, H1 would require revenue of ¥7.90 billion, operating profit of ¥550 million and net income of ¥365 million. However, seasonality has not been disclosed, so these should not be treated mechanically as achievement thresholds. The key is to determine whether profit progress catches up with revenue progress by Q2 cumulative.
