In Q1 FY2027, revenue was ¥32.584 billion and operating profit was ¥4.278 billion, both substantially above the year-earlier period, while orders expanded to ¥49.065 billion. At the next earnings announcement, the focus will be on whether cumulative H1 results reach the mechanical halfway point of the full-year plan and whether the sharply increased order backlog is converting into revenue and profit.

Whether cumulative H1 revenue reaches ¥70 billion (50% of the ¥140 billion full-year plan)
Whether cumulative H1 operating profit reaches ¥10 billion (50% of the ¥20 billion full-year plan)
Whether the order backlog remains at or above the ¥60.416 billion recorded at the end of Q1
Whether the full-year forecasts of ¥140 billion in revenue and ¥20 billion in operating profit are revised
Q1 revenue was ¥32.584 billion, up 38.0% year on year, operating profit was ¥4.278 billion, up 219.5%, and profit attributable to owners of the parent was ¥3.286 billion, up 463.5%. Mechanical progress against the full-year plan was 23.3% for revenue, 21.4% for operating profit and 21.9% for net profit. Quarterly seasonality has not been disclosed, limiting simple comparisons, but both revenue and operating profit were not materially below the one-quarter benchmark, and the company left its full-year forecasts unchanged.
Profit growth was broad-based across all segments. Communications Measurement posted revenue of ¥19.379 billion and operating profit of ¥3.153 billion, up 33.6% and 148.7%, respectively, from the year-earlier period. PQA posted revenue of ¥7.894 billion and operating profit of ¥772 million, up 15.7% and 36.2%, respectively. Environmental Measurement posted revenue of ¥3.600 billion and operating profit of ¥197 million. Revenue rose 323.1%, and the segment returned to profitability from an operating loss of ¥394 million in the year-earlier period. Other businesses posted revenue of ¥1.710 billion and operating profit of ¥605 million, up 18.4% and 60.6%, respectively.
Among leading indicators, Q1 orders were ¥49.065 billion, up 95% year on year, and the order backlog reached ¥60.416 billion. The backlog increased by ¥17.085 billion, or approximately 39.4%, from ¥43.331 billion at the end of March 2026. However, the company has not disclosed the segment breakdown of orders or the backlog, or the portion of the backlog expected to be recognized as revenue in H1 FY2027. A key question at the next results announcement will be whether the surge in orders reflects a temporary concentration of projects or sustained demand from data centers and PQA.
For the H1 results, it will be necessary to assess whether company-wide revenue of ¥70 billion and operating profit of ¥10 billion are achieved as mechanical benchmarks, and whether standalone Q2 revenue and profit increased year on year. After Q1, the amounts remaining to achieve the full-year plan were ¥107.416 billion in revenue and ¥15.722 billion in operating profit, implying that these amounts must be generated over the remaining 3 quarters. Even if the full-year forecasts remain unchanged, attention will be on whether the company discloses its assessment of H1 progress against plan, the timing of backlog conversion into revenue and the amounts attributable to each profit-growth factor.
¥100 million
