FY2027-Q1 was strong, with revenue of ¥13,334 million, up 27.4% year on year, but the Video & IT segment accounted for most of the revenue growth. In FY2027-H1, the key question is whether overseas business growth is continuing without relying on certain subsidiaries or a single business.

The company's ongoing themes and initiatives this watchpoint touches on.
Consolidated revenue in FY2027-Q1 was ¥13,334 million, up ¥2,865 million, or 27.4%, from ¥10,469 million in the year-earlier period. This was substantial revenue growth for a first quarter, but simple progress against the full-year forecast of ¥55,000 million was only 24.2%. Because the Education ICT and overseas businesses are seasonal, the figures cannot simply be annualized from one quarter, making the key next test whether cumulative first-half revenue exceeds the year-earlier period.
By segment, Video & IT revenue was ¥10,645 million, up 36.4% year on year, while Robotics revenue was ¥2,689 million, up only 0.8%. As a result, the Video & IT segment drove nearly all of the ¥2,865 million increase in consolidated revenue, making it difficult to characterize the recovery as evenly distributed across the business. In FY2027-H1, it will be necessary to confirm not only whether Video & IT revenue exceeds the ¥22,871 million recorded in the year-earlier period, but also whether Robotics revenue growth improves from the 0.8% seen in the first quarter.
The company cites expansion of the information security market, office demand in ASEAN, global data-center construction and AI-related investment as demand drivers. Overseas operations have so far contributed to group earnings through Pacific Tech’s cybersecurity business and ESCO’s office-solutions business, but the company has not disclosed a breakdown of the first-quarter revenue increase among Pacific Tech, ESCO and other regions or products. It is therefore not yet possible to determine whether the increase reflects a temporary large-scale project or repeatable demand across multiple regions.
In the first-half results, key disclosures will include revenue by region, revenue and profit by overseas subsidiary, and security-related orders or order backlog. At a minimum, if consolidated revenue exceeds ¥22,871 million in the year-earlier period and both higher Video & IT revenue and overseas profit contributions can be confirmed, this would support the view that first-quarter growth was not one-off. Conversely, if Video & IT revenue continues to rise but overseas revenue and the profits of major subsidiaries are not disclosed, the information available to assess the quality of growth will remain limited.
