FY2027 Q1 revenue was ¥2,163 million and operating profit was ¥909 million, up 2.5% and 3.9% year on year, respectively. The operating margin rose to approximately 42.0% from approximately 41.5% a year earlier, but given the concentration of revenue around the period of annual general meetings, the focus is whether the high margin can be sustained in FY2027 H1.

Revenue in FY2027 Q1 was ¥2,163 million, operating profit was ¥909 million, ordinary profit was ¥912 million, and net profit attributable to owners of the parent was ¥617 million. Compared with revenue of ¥2,110 million and operating profit of ¥875 million in the same period a year earlier, revenue increased 2.5% and operating profit increased 3.9%, with profit growth slightly outpacing revenue growth. A simple calculation of the operating margin shows an increase of approximately 0.6 percentage points, from approximately 41.5% a year earlier to approximately 42.0%.
However, this margin should not be extrapolated directly to the full-year level. The company explains that, given the nature of its IR and SR consulting business, revenue tends to be concentrated in the first and second quarters around June, when Japanese companies hold their annual general meetings. FY2027 H1 is therefore a period in which margins tend to be relatively high within the full year. In fact, the FY2026 full-year operating margin was 20.9%, substantially different from approximately 42.0% in Q1. In H1, it will be necessary to assess both the timing of project recognition and the progress of ordinary projects.
In FY2026, revenue was ¥6,141 million and operating profit was ¥1,283 million, up 6.2% and 27.7% year on year, respectively. On a full-year basis, the margin also improved by 3.5 percentage points, from 17.4% in FY2025 to 20.9%. Depreciation of ¥78.981 million was recorded in Q1, but because the company did not prepare a consolidated statement of cash flows for Q1 in its quarterly financial results summary, it is not yet possible to determine how much of the increase in profit translated into cash generation.
In the next report for FY2027 H1, it will be important to assess not only whether revenue and profit increased year on year, but also how much operating profit outpaced revenue growth, whether the operating margin was maintained at the prior-year level, and whether ordinary projects continued to build without relying on highly profitable large projects. In addition, changes in personnel, systems investment and outsourcing costs within SG&A, and whether the company can disclose operating cash flow for H1, will help assess the sustainability of earnings.
