FY2027 Q1 revenue rose 17.4% year on year to ¥1,638.1 million, while operating profit fell 17.0% to ¥70.3 million. It will be necessary to assess whether revenue growth translates into profit growth and to monitor the impact of material prices and product mix.

Whether revenue can maintain or exceed ¥1,638.1 million, up 17.4% year on year
Whether the Q1 operating margin can recover from 4.3% to the prior-year level of 6.1%
Whether the company discloses the amounts attributable to cost of sales, gross margin and the impact of material prices
Whether segment profit in both the Metal Products and Environment-Related businesses will turn around from year-on-year declines
The reporting period for FY2027 Q1 ran from 16 March to 15 June 2026. Consolidated revenue was ¥1,638.051 million, up 17.4% year on year. Operating profit was ¥70.302 million, down 17.0%, while ordinary profit was ¥77.162 million, down 16.9%. Based on prior-year revenue of ¥1,395.458 million and operating profit of ¥84.667 million, the operating margin fell 1.8 percentage points, from approximately 6.1% to approximately 4.3%. Although revenue increased, the company’s ability to convert the increase into profit weakened.
The company cited stronger user visits and proposal-based sales, expanded sales channels centered on its suspended-clamp management app, and the launch of new products as factors behind the increase in revenue. At the same time, it explained that sluggish growth in cranes and soaring material prices weighed on profit. However, the disclosures available for review do not provide a quantitative bridge breaking down the increase in revenue into sales activities, new products, the app, volume, pricing and product mix, nor do they show the amounts attributable to cost of sales, gross margin or higher material costs.
Profit pressure was not limited to a single business. In Q1, the Metal Products business reported revenue of ¥1,254.067 million and segment profit of ¥151.026 million. Revenue rose 11.9% year on year, but profit fell 10.5%. The Environment-Related business reported revenue of ¥383.984 million and segment profit of ¥27.614 million. Revenue rose 39.9%, while profit fell 9.0%. The decline in the consolidated operating margin is therefore consistent with revenue growth failing to translate into profit growth in either segment.
For FY2027 H1, it will first be necessary to determine whether the 17.4% year-on-year increase in revenue is temporary or sustainable. In addition, the key issue is whether the operating margin can not only exceed Q1’s 4.3% but also return to approximately 6.1%, its level in the prior-year period. Disclosure of segment margins, the amount of the impact from higher material prices, and product-level pricing, volume and mix variances would make it possible to assess the quality of the revenue growth. Conversely, if revenue grows but the operating margin remains in the 4% range and profit in both businesses again falls below the prior-year period, additional price pass-through or cost improvements would be required to achieve the full-year operating profit forecast of ¥390 million.
Confirmed
In the interim period of the fiscal year ending March 2027, revenue rose 7.7% year on year to ¥2,968 million, while operating profit fell 34.4% to ¥133.9 million. The operating margin also declined from approximately 7.4% in the same period of the previous year to approximately 4.5%, confirming concerns that revenue growth has not translated into profit growth and that restoring margins remains a focus.
