First checkpoint: progress toward the FY2027-H1 plan after the upward revision

In the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027, revenue was ¥6,690 million, operating profit was ¥1,120 million, ordinary profit was ¥1,116 million and quarterly net profit was ¥751 million. Progress against the full-year forecast was 24.4% for revenue, 28.0% for operating profit, 27.9% for ordinary profit and 26.8% for net profit, with the profit items progressing particularly faster than revenue. On 29 July, the company raised its forecasts to revenue of ¥27,416 million, operating profit of ¥4,000 million, ordinary profit of ¥4,000 million and net profit of ¥2,800 million for the full year.

The revised forecast for the cumulative second quarter, also announced at the same time, is revenue of ¥13,459 million, operating profit of ¥1,933 million, ordinary profit of ¥1,930 million and net profit of ¥1,323 million. Q1 results represent 49.7% of the H1 plan for revenue, 57.9% for operating profit, 57.8% for ordinary profit and 56.8% for net profit. The H1 plan assumes revenue growth of approximately 3.5% and operating profit growth of approximately 22.7% from the same period of the previous year, when revenue was ¥13,006 million, operating profit was ¥1,576 million, ordinary profit was ¥1,577 million and net profit was ¥1,052 million.

At the next results announcement, it will be necessary to examine not only progress against the full-year forecast but also the variance from the revised H1 forecast. In particular, it will be important to see whether the operating profit growth that led in Q1 continues into Q2 and reaches ¥1,933 million. If full-year operating profit of ¥4,000 million is maintained, we will also check whether the company can explain, in terms of amounts or volumes, the level of profit required in H2 and which of its card payment product, referrals from MUFG companies, business rental guarantees and DX initiatives contributed to it.
