FY2027 Q1: Operating margin declined despite higher revenue

FY2027 Q1 revenue was ¥87.118 billion, up ¥12.966 billion, or 17.5%, from ¥74.152 billion in the year-earlier period. Operating profit, however, fell 20.9% to ¥3.404 billion from ¥4.302 billion, a decline of ¥898 million. Subtracting Q1 results from the year-earlier cumulative Q2 results gives standalone year-earlier Q2 revenue of ¥80.531 billion, operating profit of ¥4.906 billion and net income of ¥2.709 billion. If standalone FY2027 Q2 operating profit falls below ¥4.906 billion, the decline in margin seen in Q1 is more likely to weigh on profitability for H1 as a whole rather than reflect a temporary factor. Conversely, exceeding this level in standalone Q2 would indicate that some of the Q1 decline may be recovered.
