Profitability on the order backlog improved ahead of schedule, prompting the FY2027-H1 operating profit forecast to be raised from ¥2.3 billion to ¥3.4 billion. However, full-year operating profit guidance remains unchanged at ¥9.5 billion, so it is necessary to determine whether the first-half upside reflects a lasting improvement in earnings power or the recognition of profit brought forward from the second half.

Whether FY2027-H1 operating profit reaches ¥3.4 billion or more and whether the upside from the previous ¥2.3 billion forecast can be sustained
Whether FY2027-H1 ordinary profit reaches ¥3.5 billion or more
Whether the outlook for securing approximately ¥6.1 billion in second-half operating profit against full-year operating profit of ¥9.5 billion remains intact
Whether the company will disclose the amount or project-level breakdown of the early benefit and recurring cost improvements from better profitability on the order backlog
In the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027, revenue was ¥31.596 billion, operating profit was ¥1.540 billion and ordinary profit was ¥1.638 billion. Year on year, revenue fell 23.2%, operating profit fell 57.8% and ordinary profit fell 55.4%, leaving current earnings weak compared with the peak construction phase of large building projects in the same quarter last year. First-quarter operating profit represents only approximately 16.2% of the ¥9.5 billion full-year forecast on a simple progress basis, so it is premature to judge full-year earnings improvement based solely on the first-half upward revision.
According to information released on 2 November, the FY2027-H1 operating profit forecast was raised from ¥2.3 billion to ¥3.4 billion, while the ordinary profit forecast was raised from ¥2.33 billion to ¥3.5 billion. The main factors were that profitability on the order backlog improved as expected and that some of the profitability improvements previously expected in the second half materialised earlier, in the first half. The revision is therefore positive, but it does not mean that all of the improvement reflects higher new orders or a lasting improvement in profit margins.
Full-year operating profit guidance remains ¥9.5 billion and ordinary profit guidance ¥9.38 billion. Assuming first-half operating profit of ¥3.4 billion, approximately ¥6.1 billion in second-half operating profit will be required to meet the full-year target. This plan calls for 1.8 times the first-half profit to be recorded in the second half, making it highly dependent on the progress and profitability of large projects entering their main construction phase and on the timing of real estate sales. In the H1 results, it will be important to determine how much of the upward revision reflects timing benefits and how much reflects recurring improvements such as project-level cost reductions and additional contract revenue.
The company also describes the first half of FY2027 as a period concentrated with projects in the early construction stage, and the second half as a period when construction progress and real estate sales will accelerate. Even if first-half operating profit reaches ¥3.4 billion, achieving the ¥9.5 billion full-year forecast requires construction profitability and industrial land sales in the second half to proceed as planned. In the first-half results, it will be important to confirm not only whether full-year guidance is revised again, but also the project-level breakdown of profitability improvements, changes in provisions for construction loss and additional costs, and the certainty of the profit remaining for the second half.
Because the first-half upside includes timing benefits, the key issue is the certainty of the approximately ¥6.1 billion in second-half operating profit required to meet full-year guidance.
