The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The Company achieved relatively low product prices and growth in same-store sales by expanding point-card promotions, campaigns, social media activities and sales of internally developed products, opening and refurbishing stores, and improving the efficiency of store operations and logistics. However, higher procurement costs, stronger pricing to maintain competitiveness and rising wages weighed on earnings. For the next fiscal year, the Company expects front-loaded expenses for the third Home Delica plant, higher wages and expanded logistics functions, and therefore disclosed its forecasts in a range format.
