The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In Q1, customer traffic declined as the boost from media exposure and other factors in the previous year fell away. Higher raw material prices, including pork and cooking oil, and increased personnel expenses also contributed to lower sales and profit. Performance improved in Q2 on seasonal products, pricing initiatives and delivery campaigns, among other measures, but cumulative first-half sales and profit declined.
