Sales increased due to special sales campaigns and new store openings by Gyomu Super, as well as the impact of opening yakiniku specialty restaurants. Profit was supported by improved margins from expanding DCM private-brand sales, strengthening soft-goods categories such as apparel, reducing expenses, controlling personnel costs, reviewing promotional expenses, and improving logistics efficiency by reducing inventories. These factors were partly offset by the post-Golden Week decline in consumption and weak sales of camping equipment requiring overnight stays.

The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Sales increased due to special sales campaigns and new store openings by Gyomu Super, as well as the impact of opening yakiniku specialty restaurants. Profit was also supported by improved margins from expanding DCM private-brand sales at home centers, greater operating efficiency, control of personnel expenses, a review of promotional expenses, and improved logistics efficiency from reducing inventories. On the other hand, the post-Golden Week decline in consumption and weak sales of camping equipment requiring overnight stays were negative factors.
