Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

Services revenue and profit increased on strong growth in cloud and security and higher volumes of high-margin construction and migration work accompanying increased demand and orders. Systems development posted lower revenue and profit: although large-project progress and demand for legacy migration supported results, the Company partially restrained new orders for ultra-high-speed development as a strategic investment toward AI-driven development. Systems revenue and profit increased despite lower sales volumes, due to higher selling prices. Product Development and Manufacturing posted lower revenue and profit because of the reaction to printer replacement demand in the year-earlier period.

The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

Results were driven by continued growth in cloud and security, increasing demand for IT investment, and larger projects and expanded orders resulting from comprehensive proposals covering multicloud and security. The dividend increase reflects achievement of the full-year operating margin target, a higher proportion of recurring revenue, and a record high in new monthly recurring orders, making achievement of the full-year earnings targets more certain.
