The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In the restaurant business, profit was pressured by delays in passing on higher raw material costs, including rice, to prices, as well as increases in labor and repair costs resulting from higher minimum wages and other factors. Costs related to Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, were also recorded in selling, general and administrative expenses. Meanwhile, the ODM/OEM business reported higher revenue and profit, supported by increased orders for frozen osechi and frozen home-delivered meals and an increase in the number of in-flight meals served.
