The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

In the Architectural Consulting business, revenue declined in the high-margin consulting division. In the Housing business, the number of units sold and completed homes decreased due to delays in construction starts and extended construction periods resulting from revisions to the Building Standards Act. Operating income was also affected by JIMOS's proactive investment in advertising and sales promotion, as well as higher service supplies expenses associated with the increase in Crecla customers. Net income increased due to higher extraordinary income and lower extraordinary losses.
