The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In accordance with the dividend policy of maintaining a consolidated dividend on equity ratio (DOE) of at least 3.0% and targeting a consolidated payout ratio of 50%, the company took into account its record-high earnings, driven in part by strong orders related to the Osaka-Kansai Expo. In addition, a commemorative dividend of ¥5 per share will be paid as a token of appreciation for shareholders' support as the company reaches its 60th anniversary.
