The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Operating revenue exceeded the previous fiscal year in all businesses. The increase in the insurance business was driven by progress in contract renewals and an increase in new contracts; in the real estate business, occupancy remained nearly full and rental terms were reviewed; at Senbonmatsu Farm, revenue was supported by higher visitor numbers, new soft-serve ice cream shop openings, increased sales to local mass retailers and steady calf sales; and in the golf business, higher visitor numbers resulting from various events and media use contributed to the increase. Operating profit increased on higher gross operating profit, while the golf business's operating loss widened due to major repairs to aging facilities, construction work associated with the introduction of “G-CART,” and initial costs for promotions and other activities.
