The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In Japan, disaster prevention and mitigation measures and efforts to address aging infrastructure are expected to advance against the backdrop of public-works spending budgets exceeding the prior-year level. Overseas, demand for infrastructure investment related to climate-change measures, transportation and energy is increasing, and public-works spending in the UK has also begun to be implemented. The increase in shareholder returns is based on management that takes the cost of capital and share price into account, improved capital efficiency, and enhanced shareholder returns under the Medium-Term Management Plan 2027.
