The dormitory business reported higher sales and profit, driven mainly by the opening of new facilities and appropriate adjustments to selling prices. The hotel business reported higher sales due to inbound and domestic demand, proactive sales activities and revenue management, but profit declined because of costs associated with launching new buildings and higher large-scale renovation expenses. The main factors for the comprehensive building management and development businesses were the reversal of the prior period's large-scale repair work and large projects, while the foods business benefited mainly from an increase in contracted hotel restaurant projects. Overall, the decrease in equity in earnings of affiliates and the reversal of the prior period's decrease in tax expenses weighed on ordinary profit and net profit.

The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In the dormitory business, results benefited from the opening of new facilities and appropriate adjustments to selling prices. In the hotel business, robust inbound and domestic demand, proactive sales activities and revenue management contributed to results.
