The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. For the fiscal year ended March 2026, gas sales volumes increased, as did sales volumes of LNG and heating and cooling energy. For the fiscal year ending March 2027, the company expects higher sales volumes of gas, electricity and LNG, as well as higher selling prices due to surging crude oil prices. At the same time, its forecast factors in increased investment related to DX and renewable energy, higher strategic expenses related to smart meters and DX, and weaker earnings from the electricity business due to surging wholesale electricity market prices amid uncertainty in the Middle East.
