The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Based on progress in the interim period against the previous outlook, the number of electricity customers and sales volumes of gas and LPG were revised downward. Meanwhile, based on assumptions of a crude oil price of $115 per barrel and an exchange rate of ¥160 to the dollar, revenue and net income attributable to owners of the parent were revised upward. The decline in interim-period profit was attributed to the impact of the timing difference between raw material costs and revenue under the fuel cost adjustment system shifting from a positive spread to a negative spread, among other factors.
