「The Company had recognized a drought reserve to cover losses caused by drought. Following the enforcement on 1 April 2016 of the Act Partially Amending the Electricity Business Act and Other Acts (Act No. 72 of 2014), the drought reserve recognized in the previous consolidated fiscal year was reversed under Article 5 of the Supplementary Provisions of the Ordinance on the Drought Reserve (Ordinance of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry No. 53 of 2016), and the amount was added to retained earnings at the beginning of the period. As a result, ¥116 million of the drought reserve at the beginning of the cumulative third-quarter period of the current consolidated fiscal year was reversed, increasing retained earnings by ¥83 million.」
Following amendments to and enforcement of the Electricity Business Act and related legislation, ¥116 million of the drought reserve was reversed and ¥83 million was added to retained earnings at the beginning of the period.
