The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Revenue increased despite lower electricity sales volumes, due mainly to higher electricity sales prices to other companies and other factors. Ordinary income declined due to higher power procurement costs at Miraiz, a shift in timing-shift profit and loss from a gain to a loss, lower transmission service revenue and higher costs at Power Grid, and lower electricity sales volumes at Miraiz. Net income declined because, in addition to these factors, the company recorded an impairment loss and a nuclear fuel valuation loss related to the Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant.
