  2. FY2018-Q4First statedAnnual report

「In June 2018, we entered into a business alliance agreement with Lakala Japan Co., Ltd., the Japanese subsidiary of Lakala, a major Chinese acquirer and platform operator, marking the first such agreement with a Japanese company. Under the agreement, our group companies will be able to process both of China’s major electronic payment services, Alipay (支付宝/アリペイ) and WeChat Pay (微信支付/ウィーチャットペイ), from this summer. Chinese tourists visiting Japan, whose numbers are increasing, account for approximately 40% of spending by foreign tourists in Japan. Restaurants, hotels and leisure facilities are therefore expected to attract more customers by introducing these Chinese electronic payment services, enabling Chinese visitors to Japan to pay easily. We expect this initiative to help address the diverse needs of customers and resolve their issues, which represent the greatest asset of our group.」

Through the business alliance with Lakala’s Japanese subsidiary, the company has made Alipay and WeChat Pay available from this summer and launched a new initiative to support payment convenience for Chinese tourists visiting Japan and customer attraction at restaurants, hotels and other facilities.
