Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

In the logistics business, storage handling volumes in the warehousing division declined, while workloads related to steelmaking and export handling volumes for construction machinery in the port forwarding division, as well as rate revisions in the transportation division and crane work volumes related to steel pipes, increased. The real estate business reported lower revenue due to a review of the contract terms for certain properties and lower profit due to higher repair and other expenses. The printing business benefited from an increase in the number of newspaper printing jobs received, rate revisions and fixed-cost reduction measures resulting from business-structure improvements implemented in the wedding business by the previous fiscal year, while the number of orders received in the New Year's card and wedding businesses declined. The other business benefited from an increase in construction-related work volumes.
