Reason for the revision

In the resource recycling business, volumes of waste and discarded home appliances increased amid persistently high resource prices, and the Company implemented more thorough sorting of non-ferrous metals. In the waste treatment and resource recovery business, the disaster waste treatment support project in Noto progressed smoothly, while the increase in energy costs was lower than expected. For the full fiscal year, the forecast for the second half remains unchanged at the figures announced previously, and only the upward revision for the interim period has been incorporated.

The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

This reflects increased volumes of waste and discarded home appliances amid persistently high resource prices, more thorough sorting of non-ferrous metals, smooth progress in the disaster waste treatment support project in Noto, and lower-than-expected increases in energy costs, which had been projected in anticipation of a worsening situation in the Middle East. For the full fiscal year, the forecast for the second half remains unchanged, and only the upward revision for the interim period has been incorporated.
