The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

In the Reliability Evaluation business, complex testing and higher-priced analysis and evaluation projects increased, while the Micromachining business benefited from growth in mass-production laser processing projects. In addition, productivity improvements, including the use of AI, kept the increase in headcount under control, contributing to higher operating profit. Ordinary profit benefited from subsidies for the MAP project, while net income benefited from the absence of the loss on valuation of investment securities recorded in the previous fiscal year.
