Stacked from zero: upward is an increase in cash, downward a decrease (in ¥ million). The net change represented by the dotted line is the total of three items, calculated from figures provided by the company.
Revenue increased due to the opening of 13 new hospice facilities, the opening of 6 new home-visit nursing locations, increases in the number of users and care hours per user, and higher medical fee revenue from Medical Care Residences. Revenue from medical institutions decreased due to a temporary reduction in monthly fees, a decline following the large-scale M&A support fee recorded in the previous fiscal year, and the consolidation of unprofitable locations. Operating profit increased due in part to a ¥1,190 million gain on the sale of beneficial interests in a real estate trust, while profit before tax and profit attributable to owners of the parent decreased because the ¥360 million foreign exchange gain at a U.S. subsidiary recorded in the previous fiscal year did not recur.

The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Revenue increased during the fiscal year due to the opening of new hospice facilities, the opening of new home-visit nursing locations and an increase in users, and higher medical fee revenue from Medical Care Residences. Meanwhile, profit before tax and profit attributable to owners of the parent decreased because the ¥360 million foreign exchange gain at a U.S. subsidiary recorded in the previous fiscal year did not recur. For the following fiscal year, the Company expects the absence of gains on the sale of beneficial interests in a real estate trust, upfront investments including recruitment costs, opening costs for new facilities in areas including the U.S. OBL business, and an impact on unit prices from the revision of medical fees.
