The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The Company has adopted a dividend policy based on a payout ratio of 40% of full-year earnings in order to further enhance returns to shareholders and achieve management that is conscious of the cost of capital and share price. In addition, current-period earnings exceeded the most recent earnings forecast due to favorable market conditions for large LPG carriers and dry bulk carriers, as well as the weaker yen.
