Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

The increase in profit was driven by generally firm transportation demand, the acquisition of new customers and expansion of market share, increased handling volumes from existing customers, collection of appropriate freight rates and freight rate revisions, and productivity improvements through logistics efficiency initiatives, optimization of transportation and delivery networks, and the use of DX. In the international business, higher container transportation volumes, rate revisions, and the effect of the acquisition of a newly consolidated company contributed to results. The Other business recorded lower revenue and profit because the merchandise sales business performed poorly.
