Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

Revenue increased in the petroleum transportation business due to revisions to tank car usage fees and freight rates for major customers, and in the high-pressure gas transportation business due to new LNG transportation services, increased demand and progress in freight rate revisions. Revenue decreased in the chemical products and container transportation business because of poor crop growth and transportation disruptions caused by heavy snow, and in the asset management business because of the反動 from property sales in the previous fiscal year. Profit declined in the high-pressure gas transportation business due to higher expenses associated with increased personnel costs and growth investments, and in the chemical products and asset management businesses due to increases in selling, general and administrative expenses and other factors.
