Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

In the Logistics business, profitability improved through higher unit prices charged to major customers and cost reductions in China, although spot projects declined and start-up costs were incurred for new overseas warehouses. In the Engineering and Machinery business, the volume of domestic SDM construction increased, while domestic plant construction and dismantling work, environmental-related projects, and overseas EV-related projects declined. Gains on the sale of investment securities resulting from the reduction of strategic shareholdings contributed to consolidated net profit.
