Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

Revenue increased due to growth in equipment construction and environment-related construction. In the logistics business, profit improved through higher unit prices and cost reductions despite lower handling volumes. In the plant engineering business, equipment construction increased, but profit declined because of an allowance for doubtful accounts and lower maintenance workloads. Net income increased as a result of reducing cross-shareholdings.

The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

Revenue increased due to growth in equipment construction and other areas. In the logistics business, however, project transportation orders, marine container handling volumes and warehouse operations declined, while in the plant engineering business, the recognition of an allowance for doubtful accounts on certain construction receivables and lower maintenance workloads reduced profit. Net income attributable to owners of the parent increased as a result of progress in reducing cross-shareholdings.
