The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Although handling volumes declined, mainly among large corporate customers, and logistics demand was depressed by natural disasters, operating costs were optimized through measures including more appropriate pricing, centralized dispatch using real-time data, and more efficient pickup and delivery operations, resulting in an improvement in the operating loss. The main reason for the increase in the interim net loss attributable to owners of the parent was the recognition of a ¥8,087 million loss on the sale of shares in affiliates and a ¥1,615 million impairment loss, among other items. The downward revision to the full-year operating revenue forecast reflects the expectation that handling volumes, mainly among large corporate customers, will continue to show limited growth in the second half of the fiscal year.
