The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. As the depreciation of the yen and higher fuel prices have increased air transportation costs, the price gap with truck transportation has widened contrary to initial expectations. The company therefore determined that ending domestic freighter operations and using alternative transportation methods, such as belly space on passenger flights, would be the best way to maintain stable transportation services.
